AfterEdit ME dont recognize two DLT Drives

Hello everybody,
we just bought DVDAfterEdit ME.
Now i would like to write 2 DLTs simultanousley.
But when I connect both drives at the scsi card, Afteredit needs a very long time to start up. When its finally started the Tapetools give me the following
error message:

"Tape Drive Error,
No tape units are available" ...

My setup:

G5 1,8Ghz 1GB RAM (Mac OS X 10.3.9)
Acard 67160 SCSI,

DLT 4000 (EXTERNAL)
DLT 2000XT EXTERNAL)

The devices are on the same chain and the last device is terminated activeley.
System Profiler and DVD Studio Pro are recognizing both drives. The devices have different IDs.

When i connect only one device at a time AfterEdit recognize each of them.

Whats wrong???

Thanks,
Matthias Wutschke

Format/CopyCompare

Hi Matthias,

Try formatting directly to the two drives with a project (format/CopyCompare. Don't use the Tape Tools). Also, I would recommend two DLT 7000's minimally, for best two drive writing performance, just so you know.

Some DLT 4000's have older firmware that require the "Overlap Tape Mark" formatting preference in DVDAfterEdit to be unchecked (restart DVDAE after making the preference setting change), if there's any hope of getting them to work.

Take care,

Trai
