HDAfterEdit

Just curious if in the development of HD-DVDafteredit you have figured out why HD-DVDs compiled in DVD-Studio Pro which is supposed to be compliant with the spec, does not display overlays/menu navigation on the toshiba HD players. Is it a fault with the player or with DVDSP?

I have no idea when apple plans to upgrade DVDSP but this minor detail is the only thing holding us back from authoring for HD-DVD because we are more than happy of using the DVD menu structure paradigms at 1920x1080 as opposed to the advanced scripting that warner brothers is using on their releases.

thanks,

Ryan

It's too early for me to investigate

Hi Ryan,

Not being privy to Apple's plans, I don't know when they will come out with an update. And I don't have an HD player, I was waiting for things to shake out a bit before buying something. And yes, 1920 x 1080 is awesome all by itself.

I am hoping to be able to at least begin to explore some of these issues in a few weeks, but at this point we are working on the strucutre of the new programs, DVDAfterEdit and HDAfterEdit.

I am working with another HD author who will be investigating these issues in the relatively near future. For now, probably our only choice is to wait a bit, but be sure to shoot in HD and be ready.

Regards,

Larry
