DVD-R 9 (DL) broken menu

Hello

I have down a DVD9 with 12menus

a first with two choices : "lecons" and "morceaux" (it's a piano lesson'dvd, and yes it's french,as you can guess in my english:-( )

in "lecons" I have 9 lessons to choose + return button , each of them point to a menu in which there are 3 others (last) choices : " intro - exercices - song" . "intro - exercices -song" are in the same movie , they are just mark with a chapter

in "morceaux" I have 2 choices : "la marche turque" and an other song

my trouble is that the menu number 6 doesn't works , it's the one which call the movie just after the break point. I try to move the break point with full black mpeg2 (is that what you call dummy files?) but I always have the same trouble the menu (6 or an other) which call the movie (which is after the pointbreak) doesn't work

It work's fine when I test it with Apple DVD Player but It doesn't on my old DVD player

It has to go in fabric this afternoon in a DLT, will it work ?(is it only a DVD-R trouble maybe) or will it crash all the dvd made ???

I panic !!

please help me

thanx

You can eliminate the DL issue by making a shrink version and burning it to a DVD-R. See: http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html

Probably just DVD-R ?

In my opinion you just have DL DVD-R problems. But, if I were you I would jump in the car and try it on a few other players, or try burning to a different brand of disc - Verbatim +R DL has worked well for us.

Moving the layer-break in DVDAE won't necessarily affect the point chosen by Toast.

As a "hack" to test, you could try this:

1 - Make a fresh copy
2 - Create a Dummy VTS - just a 2 second black file.
3 - Use "Replace VTS" to replace all the big VTS files before the problem menu with the tiny 2 second black VTS. ( Copy and paste commands to retain navigation. )

This means that the project should now burn to DVD-5. Do this. If Menu 6 works once you've done this, you just had DL problems and the original project will be fine.

Hth !
