I currently use DVDAfterEdit to write two DLTs at once and just wondered is it possible to write to three DLT machines at one time or is that asking for trouble?
During early testing I ran as many as five DLT's at the same time using an ATTO UL3D, which is the 2-channel version of the SCSI adapter. Certainly the overhead for the CPU shouldn't be a problem. It also depends on the speed of the DLT, each channel has a speed rating which will slow down the DLT's if it is exceeded. I don't have a DLT8000, I onlty tested with DLT7000's and below.
As long as you have proper cables and termination, the controller should take care of things. Don't try to change the controller to a faster speed however, since the DLT may get confused.
It should work fine, depending on controller and DLT model
Hi Steve,

Hope this helps, give it a try!
