A client asked me to add a few extra chapter breaks to a project, but when I select any NavPack in any Cell the edit menu gets grayed out. I've never seen this behavior before so I'm assuming there is some flag somewhere in the project that is causing it, but I can't figure out where. There are no button highlights in the VTS, so that shouldn't be the problem.
The disk is a PAL title, to VTSs, both one sequential play titles if that matters. Anybody know under what conditions 'Edit disables the Edit menu?
Thanks,
Barry
Glad it worked !
Hi Barry,
Make sure you test it thoroughly, including watching all the video through, just in case anything is still screwy.

Hi Ian,
I imported the problematic VTS into a clean project, and now everything is working! I'll recreate the menus with the new chapter points and some dummy content, then import the VTS I need and edit from there.
I never thought about using the "Import Video Title Set" function - great tip. Thanks!

It sounds as if there may be
It sounds as if there may be issues with what has been supplied. Out of interest, what happens if you try to Import one of the problem VOBs into a clean project ? DVDAE does a lot of checking during an import - and will often fail or even crash if there is a serious issue with the VOB in question as a result. This is a messy but useful test. If the Import is successful, is the Edit menu still unavailable ?

I've double checked the file
I've double checked the file permissions, and everything in the VIDEO_TS and the VIDEO_TS folder itself are writable by me. The edit menu is enabled and the right-click menu is active everywhere in the nav tree until I descend into the NavPacks themselves. As soon as I select a NavPack the edit menu gets disabled, and if I right-click no menu appears. (I'm using DVDAfterEdit 3.0.4)
There isn't supposed to be any mutli-angle material in the VTS, but I've found numerous authoring errors in the stuff the client handled me, so I'm not ruling out something odd. I haven't found anything marked as an angle block though. I suspect that the source project has some odd spec violation that is confusing the app - at this point I'm going to ask the client for the source material or tell them to reauthor in whatever app they used in the first place. (My favorite mistake in this project - all the video streams in the VOBs are PAL, but the video flags are set to NTSC. Hate to think what that will cause players to do.)
Thanks,
Barry

Hi Barry,
I've never seen this either. Presumably the option is greyed out if you control-click on the NavPack, too ? Have you got read/write permissions for all the files ? Is there multi-angle material in the VTS ?
