little windows

Time consuming tasks (or those that could be time consuming) run a progress window that contains the log for the task. I was keeping those open so people could see the logs, but I have changed it to a user preference. The new default in a3 will be to close those windows unless you have clicked the disclosure to see the log. Then they will stay open. Don't click the disclosure and they will go away. I hate lots of windows too. Basically there are four windows to this application which I realize is 3 more than 3.0, but form follows function and you don't have to open them all. In the preferences you can decide whether to open the Disc Overview or open a Browser first. If you don't care about formatting and pre-mastering functions you can start out browsing. The Preview opening at startup is optional. Of course we have set the default settings so we could show off everything.

The advantages to multiple windows will become more apparent when we implement the drag and drop functions

The application also supports Growl. If you have that installed you'll get Growl notifications even if you are doing something lengthy (like burning a DVD - next release) and the application is in the background.

Wow indeed very smooth.

I'm still playing. Had one freeze with the first release and it would not force quit for ages. Could not repeat freeze. So will keep trying to break the software. Not one freeze with update.

Anyway my main problem is with perhaps the Apple SDK (sdk is that right?) as there are too many palettes or boxes cluttering up the screen. This gets worse when you make a disk image and then 3 more. Soon there are lots of little boxes. I'd like a photoshop style option where you can like in Windows have no sign of other apps., or the cluttered desktop. This might be an Apple problem. However it is one of the main reasons I have switched most of my intense video /sound work to Windows as I am not bothered by clutter. There are of course other issues and I don't want to get into a pro-Mac/Windows argument save to say I have had major reservations about the clutter of OS9 to OSX variants. This is not a deal breaker.

Simply when I am involved I need the preview screen and all other vital windows locked. If i want to unlock them then I could just drag the screen to a second screen but on a MacBook Pro with a 15inch screen it starts to get muddled.

This is just input. The application so far is much more mature than TFDVDedit when it was at this stage.

I'll keep trying to destroy the app for you guys. Love using it. Powerful tool.
