Read back DLTs: "extraction failed"

Hello,
we got a DVD-9 image on two DLTs to reauthor.

I dont know which software was used or if the image contains copy protection.

DVDafteredit gives me the following error message "extraction failed"

This happens at different times of the process.

1. try: Read back stops in the middle of tape 1
2. try: First tape finishes completeley but tape 2 fails in the middle
3. try: Again read back stops in the middle of tape 1

Does anyone had similar problems?

just for the records. I solved my problem.
I had to use the cleaning tape. The tapes i wanted to read were DLTIII,
i usualy use DLTIV, in that way i didnt recognize the "dirty" head for III tapes.
