DLT output clarification

while i am fairly sure i am just being dense as this has been discussed on and off in the past, would someone clarify the difference between when one asks 'Edit to output CMF and DDP2.1? i have heard it said elsewhere that they are effectively the same, yet 'Edit offers the option to output both. i am inclined to be slightly skeptical of the proposition that the formats are one and the same as they do have different names--although i would believe that they are very similar.

can anyone explain the difference between the two formats and/or the benefits and limitations of each format?

cheers,
h

Hi Harold,

Since no one has offered to answer this, I can state that the short answer is that the only difference in our output of the two formats are the names of the files and the name of the format itself. These names may affect what a replicator will accept and recognize.
