Intermittent DVD Ouptut issue

I have upgraded my version of DVDAE. I previously had a G4 Mac and now have a G5, 512 RAM, 1.8gHz processor, ATTO Express PCI Pro UL4D and 2x Compaq DLT8000 (in series) running the newest version of DVAE.

I have phad a number of DLT's returned claiming the media is either blank or faulty. I also seem to have an issue with the speed of output. Sometimes both drives write at the normal expected speed, other times one will be achingly slow. This probelm isn't solved by restarting and I have resorted to cancelling and running both layers on the same drive. Also, both drives tend to give this issue so I cant narrow it down to a drive or a lead.

The logs for all such projects (both retunred and slow) show nothing unexpected and appear to show me a correct process.

The slowness is my immediate issue as this occurs now almost daily, but the faulty/blank issue is a worry, especially as DVDAE tells me all is well on all projects I send out.

Drivers or firmware

Hi Justin,

If the drives worked OK on your old setup, then the first thing I would check is the SCSI driver versions. Are you running the same version of OS-X on the new machine ? If the ATTO card is the same one you used to use, it might also be worth trying it in a different PCI slot. Finally, have you checked that the firmware is up to date on both drives ?
