Hello,
In one of our DVD, we don't have menu. We have a splash screen after this the user goes on a video. On this video there button on video. This is a travel around the world, it is a loop. When the user push OK button on a specific time code , he can see detail for the area of the world he want to see. After pressing OK, he goes on another video, with button on video to see more detail about the area. When the user push Menu button he return to the first movie. To do this we use a script and we link the Menu button with this script.
On this project there is no real menu, do you think that can be a probleme to produce a DVD with no real menu??
Thank you

Hi Libeo,
There is no spec reason that a DVD must have a menu, buttons on video are fine. But Trai may be able to offer advice on anything to watch for.
What authoring system are you using? You mentioned script, so is it DVD Studio Pro? If so, the abstraction layer handling of the script may confuse things, and cause unnecessary bouncing between domains. It would be interesting to analyze it with Tracer. Can you mail me a copy? (I'm always looking for test material, particularly things authored in ways different than the norm).
Oh, and since this is a general/authoring question, you could post such things in the Discussion Forum next time.
Regards,
Larry
