BluRay Creation Software
Use DVDit Pro HD
Hi Walter, We're working on
Hi Walter,
We're working on an authoring app, but I can't give you a time frame. Our first emphasis will be ease of use and high quality encoding.
We would be happy to exchange some ideas with you, will contact you off-line.
Regards,
Larry
We're already making BluRay with Encore
And not all that happy. They can get button routing working perfectly fine in DVD mode, but switch to BluRay and all heck breaks loose. We've gotten Apple's Compressor working extremely well where the BluRay images are identical to the HD originals so we're really happy there.
But now we're looking for other solutions other than Scenarist to create the BluRay titles. Right now NetBlender looks to be the front runner, though that will force us to get a Windows workstation just to run one application. If you guys are going to create a BluRay function, just let me know. We've already authored 5 titles with Encore and are releasing 5 more in support of a new PBS series. We've just had to trim down the functionality of the menus to make do with Encore.

Netblender shouldn't need
Netblender shouldn't need HDAE, since they have licensed a muxing and formatting engine. I didn't include them in the poll because their Blu software isn't available yet (in fact I only just saw the announcement), and we don't know what the price will be. If you intend to use Netblender for Blu authoring, please vote for the first option ! ( I would edit the poll to include them but it resets the results, which is annoying. )

Ulead can create HDMV
What's BDMF?
I think Ulead can create BDAV and HDMV (or BDMV) format. BDAV is for recording, probably out of topic for movie studio. BDMV should be fine with studio for movie title authoring. I could use Ulead's BDMV output then tweak with my BD-J application. However, that is a pain. I'm waiting any tool can make this tweak simple (Maybe BDAfterEdit?) The other thing is about the BD CMF support and AACS support. Any tool can help on this? Since BDCMF tool may need to handle file system part regarding jump performance.
NetBlender ?
Hi Ian what about NetBlender and formating with HDAfteredit ?
BD = YES
I will make BDs for sure.
the main question is which software will do this within my business!

Formating..
Encore and Ulead create BDMF type discs (not HDMV discs). BDMF cannot be formated for replication because there is not AACS specification for BDMF. What would HDAfterEdit be formating?
