Using Tape Image to create DDP

Hello,

Typically I write DLT's for replication but I have been asked to provide DDP images on DVD-R.

It seems like a straight forward process, open project, write to tape image, burn to data disc, done.

Is there a way to take to the tape image generated and write it back to a video ts folder for verifiation? When go for the obvious and I try to select the tape image and attempt to write a disc image or even to DLT, I get an error message informing me that the folder does not contain the proper folder and file structure for a tape image.

I've sent a few of these out for replication already and most went through the replication process without any issues, but of course there was the one DVD-9 project that the plant kicked back at me. I'm trying to figure out if it was a bad mux or something else.

thanks in advance,

Sean

You can compare the original folder to the tape image

Hi Sean,

If you select the original VIDEO_TS folder as the source, you can compare it to a tape image on disk, which must contain both layers for a DVD-9. In the case of a single layer Data DVD-R, you can compare the folder to it directly. For dual layer, you would need to copy both layers back to your hard drive under an enclosing folder.

You cannot compare to a VIDEO_TS folder, you must do it the other way around, with the VIDEO_TS folder as the source.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Larry
