Burning Dual Layer project onto 2 DVD 5's

Hi,

I am trying to burn a dual layer project onto two DVD5's instead of one DVD9. Any suggestions on how to do this in DVD After Edit? Ideally I would like to have Layer 0 on one disc and Layer 1 on the 2nd without having to burn to DLT. The project does have multiple menus, bonus features, and video tracks. Any leads in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Cat

hi cat, if your creating DDP

hi cat,
if your creating DDP on DVD, be sure to write it with toast as UDF-(DVD-ROM)-format! otherwith you could get in trouble.

cheers

Not needed on layer 1

The CONTROL.DAT file is for the leadin informtion, and does not apply to layer 1.

DDP image for replicator

Hi Larry,

Yes, I need to send two DVDR's-each disc with a separate layer to the replicator. I've gone through DVD After Edit ME to build a tape image to the Hard Drive as well as create a DDP in DVD Studio Pro. Both processes created Layer 0 and Layer 1. However, the Tape Image layer 1 created in DVD After Edit ME is missing a CONTROL.DAT file which is present in the Layer 1 DDP created in DVD Studio Pro. Is there a reason why DVD After Edit ME omitted this file?

Thanks,
Cat

HI Larry, Yes, I"m trying to

HI Larry,

Yes, I"m trying to send a DDP image to the replicator. I'm sorry for not being more specific. Thanks for the instructions-it worked, yeah!

Thanks,
Cat

What is your goal?

Hi Cat,

I don't understand your question. Are you trying to create two DVD's for the user to watch? Or are you trying to send a DDP image to a replicator? If so, has the replicator asked you for each layer of the DDP on a separate DVD-R? This is simple to do with Toast. In DVDAfterEdit, build a Tape Image to hard drive. Then look inside. You will see two folders, one named layer0 and one named layer1. Burn each to a separate DVD-R. You can do the same from DVD Studio Pro if you have the DVD Studio Pro project.

Regards,

Larry
