Trai,

Quick question...if I am in the VMG domain and allow a Menu Call - Root, where does the navigation go? I'm missing something simple in my disc, I think. I start the disc with a short black segment in VTS 2 for the first play, then go up to the VMG domain for the intro logos. When I allow a Menu Call - Root 'edit gives me 'Signal Raised, Function: GetPGC' error then quits. If I try this in Apple's player the playback hangs.

I'd like to allow a menu call to bypass the intro logos that are playing in the VMG, but I am unsure where the navigation is going.

Hi Phil,

I've been working on Tracer, so I'm popping in here. Navigation goes to the title menu in the VMG. It will be the (only) menu marked "entry PGC" "yes". In DVDSP this will be VMG PGC 1. If there is no title menu there is no where to go. The new Tracer will not crash, but will do nothing.

Hi Phil,

I'm sorry, I misread your question and answered incorrectly. My only excuse is that I'm trying to do too many things right now.

I was talking about enabling a Title Key with no Title menu. You asked about enabling the Menu Root key, which only applies to title sets. You have played a title set menu, but are not now in the Title Set Domain.

The new tracer will show the remote key as enabled, but with nothing to execute. Players may crash. I fiddled a little bit with the Apple DVD player, but it acted as if the user op were disabled even though I enabled it. But my test didn't go to a title set menu first.

Thanks for the follow up. I ended up allowing a next pgc jump to a dummy pgc which takes the user to the root VTSM menu. The client was happy with this.
