Someone I know has taken on a project which they are planning to create in DVD-SP or Sonic producer and I am pretty sure isn't possible in either.

here's the scenario: 500ish very short films. Each has to accessible from a menu listing the films (they have been asked to put 20-30 on a menu page whereas I feel ten would be more readable). Once each movie has played it is to return to the relevant menu (I assume - rather than to the main Menu - imagine if it did and you want to play film 475!!!) and either highlight the listing entry it has come from (or maybe the next one in the list?). Now I know how to set this up in SP if it wasn't for the number of films involved. Creating the menus/graphics is no problem either. The problem is the 99 track/98 stories ceiling in SP (though I believe SP 1.5 was 99 tracks and 99 stories???)

I don't know if I've given enough info but with a combination of various builds in SP and 'Edit would this project be possible and if so would it be relatively easy to instigate or very onerous....

I haven't been asked to get involved in it but I know their experience is in creating very simple DVDs with Main menu and Scene Access and when you hit menu you go back to the Main Menu no matter what. They have never been involved with scripting or anything more complex so I am anticipating a "Steve, can you do this..." telephone call and want to be prepared with a possible solution...

Hi Steve,

The project you describe can be easily accomplished in DVD SP. Purists amongst us might cringe at the abstraction layer mess that would become the programming of the disc, but it would work in most players. DVD SP 4's new AL with VTS Editing (assigning menus and scripts to various VTSM domains) could possibly streamline things quite a bit.
