I have been asked if it is feasible to use a forced subtitle as a simple watermark, and was wondering what people think the best way to achieve this is. I am assuming a pre-command to switch the stream on, plus denying the UOP should do the trick - is there anything I need to watch out for ?
Ian
PS. DVDSP includes a "Force display" tag - has anyone tried this, and if so can they comment on it's effectiveness ?

Ian,
Happy New Year.
The 'force display' tag has worked for me to get the subtitles to appear, but if I don't deny the UOP they obviously can be switched off.
Regards,
Phil.

Hi,
It seem (from what I just unburied from a tully's list discussion) that you have to mind about :
- Denying fastforward/rewind OR making the duration of each subpicture a couple of second.
- Placing new subpicture at each chapter start
Note that Compressor have an option in the filters to add a watermark. (I believe there was some aspect ratio bug, circle going oval, you'll have to check that.)
