DLT output clarification

Posted Jul 07,2005 1:20 PM harold

while i am fairly sure i am just being dense as this has been discussed on and off in the past, would someone clarify the difference between when one asks 'Edit to output CMF and DDP2.1? i have heard it said elsewhere that they are effectively the same, yet 'Edit offers the option to output both. i am inclined to be slightly skeptical of the proposition that the formats are one and the same as they do have different names--although i would believe that they are very similar.

24 PlayList Template: Adding More Tracks

Posted Jul 15,2005 3:01 PM digifilm

I've been working with the 24Playlist template. I am trying to add more tracks (track 25, 26..) on the main menu. I don't want these tracks to be amongst the playlist tracks (1-24). I just want to have this track (track 25) played when clicked upon in the menu.

I've added a new track, (track 25) in my DSP project. Of course before using TFDVDEdit, the DVD works in simulation, however when I add code from TFDVDEdit and burn the DVD, the 25th track will not play. Is it possible to put additional tracks onto the menu that are not in the playlist?

Track Jump Return Issue on DSP2

We are trying to create a DVD that has a button over two video tracks (track1 and track2). When the button is pressed the DVD goes to a chapter on track3. Once that chapter ends on track3, the DVD goes back to the video track it came from.

This is the flow of control over 2 tracks (track1, track2) and track3

At last, my first project!

I took my time but I finally made it over :-)

What a great programme DVDAfterEdit is! I really like it. I especially enjoyed nuking the abstraction layer for first time - Ahhh (a sigh emanating from a feeling of lightness after a great burden has been lifted from my shoulders)

So this being my first time, inevitably I have a few questions ;-)

Hi Larry this is simply a suggestion not a complaint , but what if you created a tracer window that the width is greater than the Height . Something like this ,

Thanks Harold,

Yes, we discovered it had the wrong message # when you click on the box, so it was actually changing the Log SCSI pref instead. The Create Joliet Directory preference had the same problem. They will be fixed in the release version, which is coming very soon.

DVD-9 with CSS flagged on replication problem

Posted Jul 06,2005 8:01 PM videoarts

Hi Trai:
I recently output to DLTs a DVD-9 project originally authored in Sonic Creator and "finished" in 'Edit (UOP'd first and last PGC Nav Packs, self-referred PGC numbers for Next/Prev/GoUp, turned on CSS flag for project) and apparently the replicator cannot read the DLTs I sent. I finished and output to tape from 3.0b31. Do the following errors make sense? I thought the replicator provided the key for CSS and encrypted for copy protection, all we do is flag in the outputting to DLT process?

DVD with no normal menu

Posted Jul 05,2005 11:34 AM LIBEO

Hello,

In one of our DVD, we don't have menu. We have a splash screen after this the user goes on a video. On this video there button on video. This is a travel around the world, it is a loop. When the user push OK button on a specific time code , he can see detail for the area of the world he want to see. After pressing OK, he goes on another video, with button on video to see more detail about the area. When the user push Menu button he return to the first movie. To do this we use a script and we link the Menu button with this script.

Larry, I got a new error message

Hi Larry

I did a very simple process, which involved taking a replicated INXS DVD5, all regions, no CSS, less than 4 GB. I extracted to a VIDEO_TS folder and then opened it with TFDVDEdit 3.0b25 and generated a Tape Image, which left me with a Layer 0 folder that I recorded to a DVD-R and sent it to the replicator.
He made the glass master without exploring it first with the DDP Editor they've got on their new system, and checked it afterwards, and he got this error message:

Formatting tips for for eDVD DVDs

Is there anything special I should be doing when I'm writing a DLT for a DVD that includes the eDVD ROM files (e.g. player installers, XML files, autorun.inf. images etc)? I'm specifically thinking about the ROM options in the tape output dialog.

Thanks in advance!

Michael

Hi Michael

I'm also being asked to provide some weblinks with EDVD. If you have time could you get a hold of me - I'd like to ask you some questions on how it has worked for you?
